Although many lawyers claim to be trial attorneys, not all can say they have tried a significant number of cases to a jury as lead counsel. During my career I have conducted jury trials in criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors to dangerous felonies, including DWIs, felony drug cases, assaults, domestic assaults, serious sex crimes, stealing, manslaughter and second and first-degree murders.
I've contributed to the law profession at large by writing for the Missouri Bar CLE program and teaching advanced criminal defense topics at numerous training seminars. I also served as the Chairman of the sex crimes defense committee with the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and lead the development and publication of a significant practice aid written as a resource for use by attorneys who practice in this highly difficult and specialized area of the law.
In 2017, I was honored to be named Defender of Distinction, the highest honor that can be bestowed in the State of Missouri by the Public Defender System, and a reflection of my dedication and skill in the defense of people accused of a crime.
